At the 2007 AGM of the SWF the resolution was passed that all club Association handicaps should start at 28, to allow leeway for absolute beginners to learn the rules of the game before entering the B League at Handicap 24.

The importance of keeping a handicap card was stressed, both for Association and Golf Croquet. ALL club members should keep a handicap card for their singles games, whether or not they are members of the CA. Membership of the CA is highly recommended to all; members receive, amongst many benefits, annual handicap cards for both Association and Golf Croquet. However, for those who do not have a card, one can be downloaded here in PDF format.
