TAUNTON DEANE CROQUET CLUB
The club plays at Taunton Vale Sports Club,
situated in Gipsy Lane off Greenway Road, effectively the 'northern ring
road' of Taunton. From Junction 25 of the M5 follow the signs to Minehead.
This road is the A358, which is joined for a short while by the A38 heading
towards Taunton. At the Obridge roundabout, having just passed Asda on the
left, turn right. Continue on the A358 over the railway, then turn left.
Having passed just north of the railway station through a series of traffic
lights, you will be on Greenway Road. After approximately half a mile turn
right into Gipsy Lane. There is parking adjacent to the lawns.
The club has three full size courts which are
open throughout the playing season from April to October. Newcomers are
always welcome and the club arranges formal coaching sessions for beginners.
Club sessions, when members will always be present, are on Wednesday
afternoons from 2pm to 5pm.
The club plays in the Federation leagues as well
as running internal club competitions. The club plays Association croquet
and golf croquet.
